Pisces Jin Yong: When Dreams Become Reality!

November 2018 was not an ordinary month. The world lost several iconic figures: Li Yong, Lan Jieying, and finally, Jin Yong. While death is an inevitable part of life, the departure of these beloved personalities felt like losing family elders—each loss leaving a subtle, lingering ache in the hearts of millions.

When I wrote about Li Yong, I didn’t expect to soon mourn Lan Jieying. And while remembering her, I certainly didn’t anticipate the passing of Jin Yong immediately after.

Astrologically, November saw Venus retrograde in Libra and the Moon in Scorpio simultaneously squaring Uranus in Taurus. This configuration often relates to sudden, unexpected events connected to life and death—particularly influenced by Venus, which rules both Taurus and Libra. With Uranus positioned in Taurus, it’s tragically fitting that we received the shocking news of Taurus natives Li Yong and Lan Jieying’s passing.

But what about Jin Yong, who, as I recalled, was a Pisces? How does his departure relate to this Taurus-Uranus clash?

Jin Yong’s Birth Chart: A Glimpse into Greatness

Birthdate: March 10, 1924

Sun: Pisces
Moon: Taurus
Mercury: Pisces
Venus: Taurus
Mars: Capricorn
Jupiter: Sagittarius
Saturn: Scorpio

Looking closely at Jin Yong’s chart, we find a fascinating emphasis on Taurus energy. Although his Sun and Mercury are in Pisces—a placement that can sometimes create challenges related to focus and realism for men—his Taurus Moon (exalted), Taurus Venus (in domicile), and Capricorn Mars (also in rulership) create an incredibly grounded, persistent, and artistically refined personality.

What Made Jin Yong an “Exceptional Soul”

Most people are considered fortunate if they have one or two planets in strong positions—known as domicile or exaltation. These placements allow planetary energies to express themselves with clarity and power.

Jin Yong had four such planets:

  • Moon in Taurus (exalted)—emotional stability, comfort, and material security
  • Venus in Taurus (domicile)—refined taste, love of beauty, and artistic talent
  • Mars in Capricorn (domicile)—discipline, endurance, and lasting energy
  • Jupiter in Sagittarius (domicile)—luck, expansion, and philosophical depth

This is what we call a “chosen chart.” Talent and success aren’t just about hard work—they’re also about how well our innate energies are supported by the cosmos.

Pisces Energy: More Than Just Dreams

Pisces individuals are often dreamy, sensitive, and deeply imaginative. They can be prone to melancholy, like Lin Daiyu, or lost in Quixotic fantasies. Often perceived as lazy or unfocused, they may drift like kites cut loose from their strings.

But Jin Yong was a kite with an engine.

His legendary wuxia novels required not just boundless Piscean creativity, but also discipline, stamina, and taste—all supported by his Taurus and Capricorn placements. His Mars in Capricorn gave him the drive to write persistently. His Moon and Venus in Taurus provided emotional and material comfort, allowing him to focus. And his Jupiter in Sagittarius placed him perfectly within a cultural moment in Hong Kong that celebrated martial arts and chivalry.

He didn’t just dream—he built worlds.

Conclusion: When a Pisces Masters Reality

Jin Yong didn’t just embody the Pisces gift of imagination—he transcended its potential pitfalls. Supported by a chart rich in earthly strength and celestial luck, he turned dreams into enduring legends. He remains one of the most unforgettable figures in modern literature—a Pisces who truly learned how to fly.
